Mid Century Sideboard – UK Import

The detail on the timber of this Mid Century Sideboard is so striking and a little different to many of the teak pieces that you normally see.

It was manufactured in the UK and imported by the original owners when they immigrated to Perth. It also has its original assembly sticker dating back to 1962.

It’s a well made quality piece of furniture that has stood the test of time. The interior is all beautifully finished in timber.

Sculpted Handles, 2 banks of drawers on either side of a central cupboard and 2 felt lined cutlery drawers

This Mid Century Russell Woodard Spun Fibreglass Table & Chairs is the perfect outdoor furniture for summer entertaining.

It’s a 5 piece setting with 4 Chairs & 1 Table. It’s been newly repainted, so ready to use.

This setting is virtually indestructible as it can tolerate all sorts of weather. It can be easily left in the rain or the sun without any issues.

Mid Century Three Seater Sofa/Daybed

This 1960s Mid Century Timber Frame Sofa has had a complete makeover. The timber has been refurbished and reoiled whilst the rest of the sofa has been completely stripped.

There’s new webbing throughout, new quilting to the base, as well as new dacron covered, premium grade foam to the seat cushions and back. The new upholstery is in a Warwick fabric.

Not only is this a great 3 Seater Sofa but it also folds down into a daybed. There are two metal legs tucked into the back of the sofa and accessed via a hidden zip on each side, to reveal a simple mechanism that allows for the two legs to swivel and come down to support the back of the sofa.

Dimensions are 1920 L x 780 D x 800 H.

Mid Century Cane Bucket Armchair

This Mid Century Cane Bucket Armchair is such a great piece. It’s super comfortable as is, or easy to add some loose scatter cushions for extra comfort.

It’s in great condition with no breaks or tears to any of the cane or the wrapping.

The chair has been cleaned and waxed so it’s ready just to sit in and enjoy a book.

Vintage Cane Nest of Tables

This Nest of Cane Coffee Tables comes as a set of 3. They all fit neatly under one another so easy to store all together when not in use.

They all have glass table tops which are all in good condition, with no cracks, chips or scratches to the glass.

They have all been dusted and cleaned and the cane has been reconditioned.

These cane coffee tables are in great condition with no breaks to any of the cane or the wrapping.

20th Century Vintage has been an established business in Perth, WA since 2010

I’ve always had a passion for Mid Century pieces as well as Italian Modern. I realise now, it went back to my childhood.

My Dad was always at auctions, so when I was a teenager I ended up with some great pieces. I didn’t know much about them at the time but I knew I loved their design. There were 2 pieces that were a stand out for me. One was my study chair, which was a chrome folding Plia Chair by Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli. The other was my study light which was an eyeball touch lamp by Gino Sarfatti for Arteluce.

And so it all began…..

Once I purchased a house I started collecting pieces along the way. It was mostly glass and second hand furniture some of which I still have today. Things evolved and I started trading as 20th Century Vintage in 2010. Back then I mostly dealt in collectables, glass, ceramics and other home décor pieces from the Mid Century & Retro era with a leaning towards Danish and Scandinavian Design. I was mostly selling online and at Collectable Fairs around Perth.

Then in 2012, when I became a featured seller in a vintage store, I added Mid Century, Retro and Vintage Furniture into the mix and I haven’t looked back.

At the end of June 2022 it was time to change my business model to accommodate a slower pace, so here we are now in our online store (always with the opportunity to view any pieces by appointment). There are further developments to come so watch this space…..

I’ve always carried a thoughtfully and carefully curated selection of Mid Century, Retro & Danish Style Furniture and Home Décor pieces and that will continue in my online store.

Vintage Cane Pretzel Chairs, Sofa and Table

This is an original vintage cane pretzel suite from the 1970s.

The suite is made up of a 2 Seater Cane Pretzel Sofa, 2 x Single Cane Pretzel Chairs and a Rectangle Cane Pretzel Coffee Table.

The cane coffee table has a new glass top and and a handy shelf for all your magazines.

All the pieces did need a good dust off and clean as well as being reoiled. As a result they’ve come up looking just as new.

The suite has all new upholstery, with new dacron covered foam and new covers with piping detail in a Warwick fabric.

Vintage Hans Borg Bedside Drawers

This pair of Bedside Tables by Hans Borg are a great size if you have a smaller room but still want to pair a bed with bedside drawers. They each have 2 drawers and an open shelf for your magazines and books.

They’ve been newly refinished and are in very good condition

Dimensions are 40 cms L x 61 cms H x 31 cms D.

Mid Century Sideboard by Austinsuite

This Mid Century sideboard was manufactured by UK maker Austinsuite in the 1960s.

It has been fully stripped and then newly refinished with a number of coats of Danish Oil.

After it’s new lease on life it is in very good condition.

The interior is all beautifully finished in timber.

There is a centre drop down bar area and felt lined centre cutlery drawer.

Dimensions are 183.5 cms L x 76.5 cms H x 46 cms D.
