20th Century Vintage has been an established business in Perth, Western Australia since 2010.
I’ve always had a passion for Mid Century pieces as well as Italian Modern and looking back, it started in my childhood.
My Dad was always at auctions, and as a teenager I ended up with a few incredible pieces. I didn’t know much about them at the time, but I knew I loved their design. Two in particular really stood out. One was my study chair, a chrome folding Plia Chair by Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli. The other, my study light, an iconic eyeball touch lamp by Gino Sarfatti for Arteluce. And that’s where it all began…..
After buying my first home, I started collecting pieces I loved. It was mostly glassware, ceramics and second hand retro furniture. Many of those early finds are still with me today.
So what began as a personal passion, slowly grew into something more. In 2010 I launched my business, 20th Century Vintage.
Early on I focused on Mid Century collectables, glass and ceramics, with a strong focus on Danish design, selling online and at collectable fairs around Perth. By 2012, things had grown and after becoming a featured seller in a retail store, I expanded into Mid Century, Retro and Vintage furniture, and that’s where things really took off. 10 years later, it was time to slow things down and reshape the business into something more flexible.
In late 2023, I moved into a warehouse showroom in Bassendean, WA. which now houses our full collection. Around the same time my husband joined the business on a more permanent basis.
These days we focus on restoring our ever growing collection and showcasing it through social media, our online store and at our Open Days. Information about our Open Days are shared on Instagram and Facebook.
You’ll always find a thoughtfully curated mix of Mid Century, Retro and Vintage Furniture from iconic Australian and international designers, along with art, sculpture and home decor.
Wherever possible, pieces are sourced locally across Perth and WA, carefully selecting pieces that deserve another life. Supporting a more sustainable approach to design and living.
